About GhanaGovernmentTourism |
Press ReleaseGovernment has noted with concern the negative spin being put in certain quarters on the nominations of former vice-President, John Evans Atta Mills for a possible national award.
Government wishes to state that the nomination of Prof Mills remains just that, a nomination and should not be misconstructed to mean that a definite decision has been made on the matter. It must be noted that every year, the committee that overseas that granting of awards, receives lots of nominations from individuals as well as organizations, on people they desire to be honored. The nominees are then screened and those befitting of awards presented to HE the President for his assent. Until that is done no nominee could be said to have been so honored. This hopefully will clear the air and put the matter to rest and allow the committee the time and space to execute its job. HON STEPHEN ASAMOAH-BOATENG (MP)
