The Fourth National Policy Summit (NPS), aimed at assessing government’s flagship programmes, has been launched in Accra today (September 17, 2018).

 

The Summit, which is schedule for September 24 and 25 at the University for Development Studies (UDS) conference hall in Tamale in the Northern Region, was launched by Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Information Minister designate.

 

Addressing the media, Mr Nkrumah said that the summit would be led by key government officials in charge of various flagship programmes such as the One District, One Factory (1D1F), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Free Senior High School policy, Poverty Eradication Programme (PEP), One Village, One Dam (1V1D) and Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty Programme (LEAP).

 

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is expected to deliver the keynote address followed by the Heads of various Ministries, Departments and Agencies responsible for the implementation of various government programmes and policies.

 

The Minister-designate encouraged all Ghanaians to participate in the policy summit in order to be a breast of the progress made by the government in the delivery of its mandate.

 

The Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) is the main partner for the summit.
