 Nana Oye Lithur (right), Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection in a discussion with Ambassador Kanda at the Function A reception to mark Ghana’s 56th Independence Anniversary was held at the residence of the Permanent Representative of Ghana to the United Nations in New York at the weekend.
It was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, friends of Ghana and Ghanaians resident in New York and beyond.

The Fourth Battalion Brigade Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has held this year’s Open Day amidst fanfare and superlative performances of military drills.
Also featuring prominently in the annual ritual held to open up the barracks to the general public to foster good civilian-military rapport, was an exhibition showcasing an array of footwear, the maiden production of the Defense Industry Holding Company (DIHOC), established by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The Ghanaian delegation attending the United Nations 57th session on the status of women last Wednesday marked the 56th anniversary of Ghana’s independence with the singing of the National Anthem and other patriotic songs at the UN headquarters.
Led by the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur and other members of the team, all in national colours, marked the day in a special way which attracted the international media and nationals of other African countries to join Ghana to celebrate the day.
