The District Management Team of the Techiman North District Assembly has been inaugurated to steer the affairs of and monitor the on-going Ghana Census of Agriculture in the District. 


The four-member team comprises the District Co-ordinating Director as Chairman, District Director of Agriculture, District Information Officer and the District Planning Officer.


The District Chief Executive, Mr Peter Mensah, who officially inaugurated the committee, charged the team to deliver on its mandate by visiting field officers periodically to monitor their activities and assist them address challenges that they might encounter.


Mr Mensah assured the team of his support in getting the most credible and reliable data to inform government on policy formulation in the agriculture sector.


He was optimistic that the exercise, if successfully completed, would not only be useful to the Agriculture sector, but also serve as a reference document for other sectors.


He assured members of his team that he would liaise with the regional statistician to know all the field officers and their schedules of operation in the district for effective monitoring and supervision.


The District Co-ordinating Director, Mr Joseph K. B. Tang, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the District Chief Executive for taking time off his busy schedule to inaugurate the committee and pledged their readiness to deliver on their mandate.


It has been about two decades, since 1985, when an exercise of this nature was conducted in Ghana.
