The donation was part of the 1,500 roofing sheets which costs GH¢4500 to be distributed to the victims of the incident.
Presenting the items, the Municipal Chief Executive Mrs.Rita Odoley Sowah, said the Assembly was touched by the devastating effects of the storm, hence, the decision to assist those affected.
She disclosed that the materials were procured from the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) of the Assembly and the assistance of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
Mrs. Sowah advised the residents to maintain their property to ensure longer span and save them from such natural disasters as floods and rainstorms.
The Member of Parliament, Nii Amasah Namoale said that most of the buildings in La, especially along the beach were roofed many years ago and had not been subjected to any form of maintenance.
He therefore advised the landlords and ladies to either maintain or rehabilitate them so as to avert such occurrences in the future.
Nii Namoale mentioned sanitation, drainage, footbridges, construction of streets, provision of good drinking water and places of convenience as some of the developmental interventions the Assembly was undertaking to raise living standards in the municipality.
Mrs. Sowah and Nii Amasah visited those who sustained injuries in their homes and wished them speedy recovery.
