Under the distinguished patronage of H. E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre is organizing the much anticipated “Ghana Club 100 Awards; 2011 Edition” at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra on 12th September 2012 at7:00pm.

This year’s event is being organized under the theme “Public Private Partnership – Ensuring Effective Domestic Entrepreneurs’ Participation in Ghana’s Development”.  This is the event that awards the best one hundred (100) businesses ranked according to size as measured by turnover, return on equity, and growth in turnover.

There will also be Special Awards for outstanding business performers in selected categories including Corporate Social Responsibility.

The ceremony is expected to bring together Senior Government Officials, key business regulators, international and national corporate leaders, to celebrate the outstanding performance of the top 100 corporate institutions in the Ghanaian business sector.

One of the greatest achievements of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) is the introduction of Ghana Club 100 (GC 100) in 1998. The event aims at introducing a system of ranking the top 100 companies in Ghana while encouraging and nurturing the private sector to develop and grow to compete internationally.

The Centre believes that as Ghana continues to see itself as Africa’s Golden Gateway to a safe and secure investment destination for investors across the globe, it is incumbent on us to encourage the private sector operators to embrace internationally accepted practices and good corporate governance.

At the event, GIPC will outdoor the 2011 edition of the prestigious Ghana Club 100 Magazine, a commemorative publication containing a message from the President to local and international businesses with interest in the country, and  listing of the top-ranking companies in the economy.
