On Monday the 4th of March 2013 the Ghanaian Minister of Defence, Mr. Mark Woyongo, and the German Ambassador in Ghana, Dr. Renate Schimkoreit, signed a new edition of the "Equipment Aid Support to Foreign Armed Forces Programme" between Germany and Ghana at the Ministry of Defence in Accra.

Germany has already supported the Ghanaian Military since 2002. As part of the new edition of the programme Ghana will receive assistance in the form of military materials und trainings from Germany for about 17 million Euros.

The General Public is hereby reminded that Wednesda,y 6th March, 2013 which marks Ghana’s Independence Anniversary, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the Country.
