MELCOM CARE FOUNDATION COMMEMORATES GHANA’S REPUBLIC DAY WITH DONATIONS TO CHILDREN

As part of activities marking Ghana’s Republic Day, Melcom Care Foundation, the Social and Charity Division of the Melcom Group of Companies, has presented children’s items to a number of institutions in Accra.

The beneficiary institutions were the Osu Orphanage, Dolly Memorial Crèche and Nursery School and the Love School while the items consisted of bags of toys, packets of biscuits and packets of fruit juices.

In his remarks at the presentation ceremony, Mr Godwin Avenorgbo, Director of Communications, Melcom Group of Companies, said the donations demonstrated that Melcom was a caring organization.

He said, the company was doing more than buying and selling, and that Melcom was dedicated to giving towards health care promotion and education delivery since the two were essentials needed for a holistic national growth and development.

Mr Avenorgbo urged the pupils of the institutions visited to learn hard in order to attain a bright future.

Receiving the items, the headmistress of Dolly Memorial Crèche and Nursery School, Ms Felicity Codjoe, thanked Melcom for their support, adding that it would go a long way to show the children that people cared for them.

At the Osu Children’s Home, the manageress of the facility, Ms Christiana Addo, also expressed appreciation to Melcom for the gesture and appealed to other originations to emulate their example.
