Mr Ore Odusanya, Managing Director, Jumia Ghana, has urged Ghanaians not to be left behind, but to prepare for the e-Commerce revolution sweeping across the globe.


Mr Odusanya noted that the lack of knowledge on the use of the internet was a major challenge to the growth and development of e-Commerce, adding that e-Commerce could not thrive if potential clients could not use the internet.


There was, therefore, the need, he said, to intensify efforts to educate the public on the importance, role and use of the internet in socio-economic development, adding that if effectively employed with the appropriate strategies, e-Commerce should translate into sales, increase revenue and grow businesses.


He described the Jumia on-line platform as one that provided the opportunity of access to a variety 0f goods and services and that the platform had the largest assortment of authentic and original on-line products at extremely low prices.


He explained that using the mobile payment system and the policy of cash on delivery, the users of the on-line service were completely insulated from fraud.


In a presentation, Mr Massimilano Spalazzi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jumia Africa, disclosed that this year’s Black Friday―one of the best days of the year to bag an online bargain―would be held on the Jumia platform from November  24 to December 8, this year.


Earlier, Ms Elizabeth Owusu Kissi, was introduced as the communications manager for Ghana’s number one on-line e-commerce platform.
