The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday, left Ghana for the United Kingdom on a week-long vacation, his first since he assumed office as President.


He was accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, his children and grandchildren.


While he is away, the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will act as President.


In a Press Release signed by the Communications Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, President Akufo-Addo, while in the United Kingdom, will attend some public engagements.


These engagements, the Release said, would include speaking at the University of Oxford on the theme: “Enough Rhetoric! Catalyzing an Era of Concrete Action,” as part of the University’s 2018 Africa Conference, and delivering the keynote address at the London Business School’s Africa Business Summit.


President Akufo-Addo would also attend the Anglican confirmation ceremony of his grandson, Louis, at his old school, Lancing College, in Sussex, the Release added.


Heis expected back home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
