STUDENTS ABROAD URGED TO RETURN HOME AFTER STUDIES

The Director in charge of Human Resource at the Ministry of Information,Mr Kofi Ohene Benning has urged Ghanaian Students abroad to come back home after their studies.

 

He said Ghana needs their services and expertise for the country's rapid socio economic development and therefore asked them to respond to that call. Mr Benning made the call when he led a Ghanaian media team to interact with Ghanaian students in the North Sichuan Medical College in China.

 

“The country is developing steadily and needs the contribution from citizens from all sectors especially Ghanaians living abroad, “he added. To this end, Mr Benning urged the students to be law abiding and act as good ambassadors of Ghana. He also commended the Chinese government for its support to Ghana.

 

A representative of the Ghanaian medical students in Sichuan, Maame Afia Achiaa Atakora Mensah,   expressed gratitude for the opportunity given to them to study in China and assured that they would do their best to make their country proud.

 

She promised that they would all return to Ghana upon the completion of their studies to offer their quota to the country.

 

The president of North Sichuan Medical College, Dr Du Yong, commended the Ghanaian students for their self-discipline. He spoke highly of the Ghanaian student and added “we are looking forward to deepening the relationship between Chinese and Ghanaian students in an exchange programmes.”    

 

More than 30 Ghanaian students have been trained in the college since 2005.
