VILLAGE SAVINGS AND LOANS ASSOCIATION ORGANIZES TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR FIELD AGENTS

A training workshop for field agents of the Village Savings and Loans Association has taken place at Pusiga in the Upper East Region.

 

The two-day workshop, organized by Jaksally, a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), brought together 20 participants from the Environmental Health Department, Planning Department, Community Development and Rural Enterprise Project.

 

Mr Jeremiah Amankwah Seidu, Project Co-ordinator for Jaksally, took participants through a wide range of topics aimed at adequately preparing them for task ahead of them.

 

Some of the topics treated were Facilitation Skills, Group Dynamics, Overview of General Group Formation, Dynamics, Community Entry and Principles of Adults Learning, History of the VSLA and the Introduction to VSLA Concept for Partners, among others.

 

Delivering the key note address at the opening of the workshop, Hon. Abdulai Zubeiru, District Chief Executive for the Pusiga District Assembly, admonished participants to be results-oriented and urged  them to take the training seriously, and to apply the knowledge received in the communities where their services were much-needed.

 

Hon. Zubeiru appealed to the organizers of the workshop to continuously make efforts to supervise the field agents that would be embarking on field duties to ensure that whatever training received was practically implemented in the field.

 

He pledged the Assembly’s unflinching support for the field agents to enable them work assiduously for the greater good of the District.

 

Jaksally is an NGO that is specialized in building the capacity of communities, women and the youth, other partners, and institutions/schools/student interns from all levels, and facilitating their understanding of theory and practice to contemporary development system, social business and the academic, business/courses/programs being offered.

 

 It also assists the beneficiaries of the training programme to set up and manage their own enterprises and business schemes.
