The District Chief Executive for Atebubu-Amantin, Hon. Edward Owusu, has handed over a refurbished mobile cinema van to the Information Services Department at a brief ceremony in Atebubu.

The total cost of refurbishment which involved the fitting of a new engine, provision of a new set of tires, spraying, replacement of broken screens, straightening and electrical works is put at about one hundred and thirty-four thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢134,000.00).

Handing over the keys to the Acting District Information Officer, Mr. Daniel Oduro-Stewart, the DCE said the decision to see to the refurbishment of the vehicle, which had been stranded in Kumasi since October 2015, was not only borne out of the need to protect and maintain public property but also to keep the people informed about government policies and achievements.

Hon. Edward Owusu promised to do all in his power to support the department in order to restore it to its former glory and ensure it plays its information dissemination role so as to have an informed populace.

Receiving the keys to the vehicle, Mr. Oduro-Stewart thanked the DCE for the prompt manner in which he responded to his appeal to help rescue the vehicle which was in a bad condition after almost two years of neglect.

He promised his outfit would work hard to uplift the image of the district assembly and drum home the good works of government.
