Sod cutting for the Construction of Asunafo South District Assembly Block BA/R

A short sod cutting ceremony had been performed and formally handed over the construction of a 3-story Administration block with auxiliary facilities for the Asunafo South District Assembly at Kukuom, the District Capital to the contractor.


The project funded by the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) is estimated at GHC 1,186,436.83 and expected to be completed by the contractor; ASI Mustapha company Ltd, a Kumasi based construction firm within 36 months.

Mr Richard Yeboah, the Deputy Coordinating Director of the Assembly who handed over the site to the contractor in the presence of the consultant of the project Building and Road Research Institute (BRRI) and some staff of the Assembly expressed his profound gratitude to the Works Sub-Committee of the Assembly for their support in bringing the process to this point.

He also thanked the Member of Parliament for the area Hon Eric Opoku, through whose initiative the project was sponsored by the DACF.

Mr Yeboah urged the people to forge ahead and stand up to the challenges by contributing their quota towards the growth and development of the area.

The District Engineer Mr John Djabatey Gamah congratulated the contractor for winning the bid after evaluation and said he will play active role in monitoring the project to avoid any shoddy work.

In his brief acceptance speech, after the formal handing over,the contractor; Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Mustapha promised to do his best to complete the project within the stipulated time.

He, however, appealed to the Assembly to cooperate with him by releasing funds as and when they are needed to enable him complete the project on time.
