ATTAKROM COMMUNITY GETS 8 UNIT CLASSROOM BLOCK

An eight-unit classroom block for the Attakrom District Assembly School has been inaugurated in the Tain District.

Sponsored by Madamfo Ghana Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in German, led by Mr. Evans and Friends, the school now has an office, store and water closet.

The chief of Attakrom, Nana Agyei Asamoah, was grateful to Madamfo Ghana Foundation for providing the classroom block to replace the old one which was on the verge of collapsing.

He also thanked the community for the support and commitment towards the completion of the building through communal labour, which had saved their school children from walking long distances to attend classes.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mrs. Bettina Landgrafe, commended the sponsors for helping to improve the level of education in the community. Mrs. Landgrafe urged the parents to take their children’s education serious because that was the only way to ensure their successful future.

Mr. Victor Kwaku Manu, Country Director, Madamfo Ghana Foundation, said the involvement of the community signified the spirit of team-work in the community and tasked them to take proper care of the building. He also pledged to construct a borehole for the school.

The District Chief Executive, Madam Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh, praised the Madamfo Ghana Foundation for the numerous projects it had provided for the district. She promised that the Assembly would extend electricity to the school and also ensure that the school benefits from the school feeding programme. “We will also be doing landscaping to beautify the compound,” the DCE promised.
