The government has donated eight motorbikes to the Department of Agriculture and 17 vehicles to the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) in the Ho Municipality.


Delivering the equipment’s to the two institutions, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ho Municipality, Mr John Nelson Akodi, said the donation was in fulfilment of a promise by President Akufo-Addo to strengthen all institutions of state to enable them to deliver effectively in the area.


He said the government is poised to strengthen these two institutions to enable them to deliver their services since they are very important to the security, health and nutritional needs of the nation.


He said the Municipality in the past had suffered from inadequate Agriculture Extension Officers therefore, the government has employed some to reach out to the hardworking farmers in their respective catchment areas.


Mr Akodi further explained that the provision of the terrain vehicles is one of the measures to strengthen the capability of the GIS to patrol our borders more efficiently.


He urged the two institutions to maintain the machines regularly and used them for their intended purposes.
