President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has conferred the Companion of the Order of the Star of Ghana, Ghana's Highest Honour on the President of Burkinabe, Roch Marc Christian Kabore at the Jubilee House in Accra.

The award is in recognition of President Kabore's distinguished leadership and commitment to the progress of his country, Burkina Faso, West Africa and Africa.

Conferring the award on the Burkina Faso Head at a State at a luncheon held in his honour at the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House in Accra, President Akufo-Addo praised him for his distinguished leadership, saying, “He is one of the outstanding figures of modern Burkinabe history.

“He’s distinguished himself as someone committed to the welfare of his people and the progress of Burkina Faso and indeed West Africa and Africa… Indeed he’s one of the most respected voices amongst my peers in the region and on the continent,” he said.

“We’ve got ourselves a true friend and we should rejoice in that fact,” President Akufo-Addo added.

President Kabore’s just ended a two-day visit to Ghana, following President Akufo-Addo’s visit to Burkina Faso last year.
