A School library estimated at GH¢150,000 has been inaugurated for the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Mawuko Girl senior High school at Ho, in the Volta Region.
It was jointly sponsored by the parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the school and the family of a friend of the EP church in the United States of America, Dr Robert Everson. Inaugurating the building, the Moderator of the General Assembly of E.P church, Right Reverend Francis Amenu, said the monument was a special gift, stressing that it was an extra-ordinary feat for the family to put up such a structure in honour of Dr Everson after his visit to Ghana six years ago. He asked the students to take good care of the facility, including the books and computers in order to pass them on as legacy to the next generation. Rt Revd. Amenu said it was the vision of the church to make the school a centre of excellence and charged students to live up to that expectation. The headmistress of the school, Madam Janet Kwashie, commended the PTA and the donors and promised that the facility would be well kept. The guests from USA, Rev. David G. Christensen and Mrs Willa Everson, expressed their satisfaction with the project. It was their hope that the project would serve as a centre for academic work and research. Source: Daily Graphic
