A two-day intensive course on negotiation skills of negotiation skills that was organized by the Centre of Management Research and Professional Development of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has ended in Accra.

The course was intended to improve the negotiation skills of participants and encouraged more harmonious environment at the workplace. Participants included employers and employees.

Mathematics, Science Clinic For JHS Students In Ho PDF Print E-mail

Two private organisations and an individual from the Ho municipality have sponsored a Mathematics and Science Clinic for final-year students in the municipality with the view to addressing the dwindling performance of pupils of the area in those two subjects.

About 600 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates drawn from basic schools across the municipality will be taken through intensive Maths and Science classes from now till they write their final examination later in June this year.

Two Companies Pay Bonuses To Cocoa Farmers PDF Print E-mail

Akuafo Adamfo, a cocoa farmer purchasing company in Ghana, together with Cargill, a cocoa processing company in the country, has paid a total of GH¢320,000 as bonuses to its cocoa farmers for certified cocoa products purchased from them for the 2012 cocoa season.

A cheque for the amount of was handed over to the Sefwi Bekwai District Cocoa Chief Farmer, Nana Kwame Boakye, on behalf of the farmers at a ceremony. The gesture was also to motivate the cocoa farmers to continue adopting the best environmental practices in their operations, and thereby sustain the production of cocoa in the country.

The first Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Barton-Odro, has cautioned beneficiaries of the ‘Better Ghana Agenda’ laptop computers not to use them for cyber fraud (Sakawa) or the watching of pornographic films and materials.

He also admonished them not to sell them but rather, strive to make maximum use of them to enhance their academic work.

The Rector of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Mr David Newton, has called on media practitioners to uphold discipline and ethical behavior which are the hallmarks or journalism.

He said the dynamics of politics tended to have greater impact on the profession, but that should not in any way compromise ethics and professional standards.
