More Donations Towards Farmers’ Day PDF Print E-mail

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Nii Armah Ashitey, has received 580 jerry cans and a 21 colour television set for the Farmers Day celebration from Polytex Industries Limited, an Accra based Company in Ghana.

The items, worth GH¢1,200 comprising 100 pieces of 30 litre black jerry cans and 408 pieces of four litre orange jerry cans as well as colour TV, are intended to assist the farmers in their farming activities.

Mr. Emmanuel M. Sankah, Managing Director for Polytex Industries Limited said, the jerry cans are needed by the farmers in their localities to aid in the storage of water and chemical's as well as produce.

“The colour television set is meant for the farmer and his family to enjoy themselves,” he added.

Hon. Ashitey noted that, the government is determined to ensure that measures are put in place to help support farmers, as well as motivate and provide ready market for their farm produce.

He also expressed appreciation to the company for its kind gesture and pledged that the donation will be used for their intended purpose.
