The Minister for Communications, Dr Edward Omane-Boamah, has pledged the unflinching support of the communications sector in the development and use of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to improve the safety, management and efficiency of road transportation.
Dr Omane-Boamah also called on all stakeholders to prioritise the implementation of policies that took into account ICT standards to enhance road safety and promote awareness among road users about safety concerns including the avoidance of distractions of use of gadgets and devices.

Switzerland has provided $ 5.35 million to support Ghana’s export capacities in the fruits, cocoa, fish, wood and furniture value-chains.
A statement issued by Swiss Embassy in Accra said the support forms part of United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) trade capacity building programme.

Mr Mahama Ayariga, Minister for Information and Media Relations, yesterday gave the assurance that security chiefs would beef up the number of security personnel, intensify police/military patrols and strengthen intelligence gathering in Kumasi.
He said the security would also restrict the use of motorbikes in the city as measures towards containing the crime situation in Kumasi and its surrounding areas.
