Employment Minister Urges ILO To Step Up Advocacy Role PDF Print E-mail

The International Labour Organisation (ILO) has been urged to step up its efforts to achieve coherent and employment-centred policies at the global level.

This would prevent the dehumanisation of domestic workers as they endeavour to make meaningful contributions to the development of their countries.

Mr Enoch Teye Mensah, Minister for Employment and Social Welfare, made the call in Accra yesterday at a press conference to report on the recent 100th Session of the International Labour Conference held at Switzerland from June 2-17, this year.

The Chief Justice, Mrs Justice Georgina T. Wood, left Accra yesterday night for Johannesburg, South Africa, to participate in an international conference on Access to Justice.

A statement issued in Accra by Mrs Grace A. Tagoe, Director of Communications of the Judiciary, said it was at the invitation of her South African counterpart, Justice S. Sandile Ngcobo.
