A total of 20,321 people were registered during the first phase of the Biometric Registration exercise at 26 centres in the Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
The highest figure of 1,696 was recorded at the T.I. Ahamadiyya Registration Centre at Mampong recorded 1,696 whilst M.A JHS at Nwoase recorded the lowest figure of 201.
Mr Frank Okraku, the Municipal Electoral Officer, in an interview with Ghana News Agency mentioned faulty generators, printing errors and faulty pen drives as the major problems they experienced during the first phase.
He gave the assurance that the hitches encountered in the first phase of the exercise would not be seen in the second phase.
Mampong Municipality has a total of 98 Registration Centres. Source: GNA
