Hundreds of people from all walks of life in the Kwabre East District in the Ashanti Region last Tuesday thronged the District Assembly forecourt to join in a somber service for the late President, John Evans Atta Mills. The service was part of a one-week celebration being held for the late President who died exactly a week ago at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after a short illness. The service was hosted by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Adams Iddisah and Assembly officials and had in attendance Religious leaders, traditional authorities, Assembly Members, organized groups, school children and the general public.Delivering the sermon, the General Vicar and Parish Priest for the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church at Mamponteng, Very Rev. Father Paul Attah-Nsiah admonished Ghanaians to be mindful of the fact that death is inevitable for everybody and must be prepared for it. He said as Christians we should know that at an appointed time, God will call us all to rest with him and it will be based on how we had lived our lives on earth. He then called on Ghanaians to live a Godly life and refrain from activities which do not please God. Very Rev. Fr. Attah-Nsiah also called on Ghanaians to rejoice and do not wail much since the late President lived a life that was pleasing to God and was optimistic that the late President John Evans Attah Mills was peacefully resting in the bosom of his maker in heaven. He therefore advised Ghanaians to unite as the nation prepares to go to polls on December 7, later this year.
