In line with its development agenda to create employment and to alleviate poverty among the people of Dormaa in the Brong Ahafo Region, the Traditional Authority headed by the paramount chief, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Bedu II has designed an event to take place this Easter and subsequent ones.
On Easter Saturday which falls on April 7, 2012, the traditional council is calling on all the people of Dormaa outside and within the country as well as others who may have Dormaa at heart, to join them in a fund raising project dubbed ‘Dormaaman Easter Congress’ to solicit for funds to this effect.
The resources which would be realized will go into creating avenues which would facilitate employment for its people, especially the youths. Targeted areas of development include the creation of pure water sachet and fruit juice factories, market place for poultry products, commercial farming, among other productive ventures. The Chief of Amasu and the Ankobeahene of Dormaa traditional area, Barima Dei Kusi Gyabaa II, who is the chairman of the publicity committee, in an interview with the press, said the programme is initiated to supplement government’s efforts on job creation and development. The traditional council has therefore extended invitation to His Excellency the President, Ministers of State, Municipal and District Chief Executives of Dormaa and other government officials. The council is also inviting all Ghanaians and philanthropists outside the country to generously come in their numbers to support the event slated to take place at Dormaa Wamanafo in the Dormaa East District.
