As part of efforts towards the creation of environmental awareness in the Ajumako-Essiam- District, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will embark on noise control programme in the district. According to the EPA, it has identified sources on noise nuisance to include religious bodies, community based information centers which mount public address systems among others. In a statement issued and signed y the Senior Programme Officer, the exercise which started on a pilot basis in the Cape Coast Municipal Assembly, involves the organising of the Metropolitan Security Committee which in return invited the various community based information centers for a meeting were they educated them on the effect of noise making in the Metropolis. The statement noted that the success story of Cape Coast would be replicated in other districts and is therefore calling on the AEEA to assist the agency in identifying operators of the community based information centers which mount public address systems and arrange a meeting for the three bodies to meet on how they could resolve the problem.
