The Deputy Central Regional Minister, Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, has appealed to the youth to take advantage of skill training programmes, initiated by government, to develop their talents.

He stressed that government considering the private sector as the engine of growth, had introduced interventions to help the youth to acquire skills, to enable them to contribute meaningfully to national development.

Mrs Ama Benyiwa Doe, the Central Regional Minister, has sworn into office Mr Samuel Oppong, the new Chief Executive of the Agona West Municipal in the Central Region.

Mrs Benyiwa Doe administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr Oppong at a ceremony witnessed by dignitaries including Nana Kobina Botwe II, Swedruhene and Adontenhene of Nyakrom Traditional Area and Nana Okofo Katakyi Nyakoh Eku X, Omanhene of Nyakrom Traditional Area.

The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) yesterday launched its 50th anniversary celebration for the Central Region in Cape Coast, with a call on its members to be more resolute in the execution of their duties.

The  Launch,  which was on the theme  ‘50 years of school  leadership: transforming the youth national development’,  was attended by various Senior High Schools in the Central Region, and was preceded by a float through some principal streets of Cape Coast yesterday morning.
