The Kerith Ravine Foundation, an Accra Community-based Organization (CBO), has presented assorted food items and toiletries worth GH¢1000.00 to the inmates of the Jehovah Rapha Children’s Home in Suhum in the Eastern region. Ms Jennifer Akongbota, Executive Director of the Foundation, who presented the items, noted that the children found themselves in the Home through no fault of theirs. Ms Akongbota said the support being offered was to contribute to efforts at helping the children to live meaningful lives and to enhance their ability to fulfil their God-given mission on earth. Receiving the donation, Prophetess Elizabeth Obeng, Executive Director of the Home, expressed appreciation with a call on parents to give their children, especially the girl-child, moral education and nurture them to become responsible citizens so as to eradicate the incidence of abandoning children in the streets. Prophetess Obeng condemned the behaviour of impregnating women, refusing responsibility and deserting them, adding that such behaviour on the part of men attracted the wrath of God. She urged married couples to plan their families and raise small-sized families rather than having many children which their income could not support. Prophetess Obeng attributed the phenomenon of broken homes and orphanages to the inability to choose the right marriage partner. She, therefore, called on women to be assertive and careful in choosing their life partners, and avoid unplanned and unwanted pregnancies. The Project Director of the Home, Mr Jonathan Obeng, expressed appreciation for the donation and appealed to other organizations to support the Home. Source: ISD (G.D. Zaney)
