| Veep Joins People Of Mamfe In Asafosanom Celebrations |

The Vice President, John Mahama, has joined the Chiefs and people of Mamfe to celebrate Asafosanom as part of the activities to mark the this year’s annual Ohum festival at Mamfe Akuapem in the Eastern Region.
Present at the function included some Ministers notably among them were the Eastern Regional Minister and his Deputy, some MDCES in the region and some divisional Chiefs. The Veep called for the restoration of the values in the Akuapem State which distinguished them from any other tribe. The Eastern Regional Minister, Dr Kwasi Appeah Kubi, called for the release of lands by chiefs to develop their areas and called on all to rally behind the chief to bring development to the people. He said the region has benefitted from over 100 development projects since the assumption of the government. He also mentioned that the road leading Adawso to Mangoase is still under construction. The Chief of the town, Nana Ansah Sasraku, called on the youth to show so much dedication and commitment of the nation. The Chief appealed for the extension of the School Feeding Programme to include schools in the town and also assist to raise the standards of the Methodist Girls' High School by way of infrastructural development.
