Many ethnic Ewes mainly from Southern Volta yesterday undertook a pilgrimage to Notsie in the Republic of Togo, their ancestral home, as part of the 2012 Asogli Yam Festival.
The pilgrims streamed towards their ancestral home in a convoy of more than 38 buses, an event which has become popular among the Asoglis in past few years.

 Mr Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minister Mr Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minster, yesterday appealed to pupils and students to be studious to give meaning to the investments of their parents and guardians.
He said to achieve life's aspiration, hard work, respect, determination and steadfastness were pre-requisites for success.
Mr Kamel was speaking at the "My First Day at School" at Hohoe during which school uniforms, drinks and biscuits were distributed to the new pupils.
