 Mr Paul Victor Obeng, Senior Presidential Advisor Mr Paul Victor Obeng, Senior Presidential Advisor, yesterday underscored the need for effective spatial planning for the six coastal districts along the Jubilee Oil Field in the Western Region.
This, he said, should address the fast destruction of the environment and natural resources to ensure proper management and coastal governance.
He noted that, the oil industry had brought in its wake socio-economic challenges to the six frontline districts that needed special attention to relieve them of those challenges.

He made the call during the opening of the 2012/2013 Western Regional Education Sector Review Meeting at Fijai, near Takoradi.

Government has been called upon to take a second look at supporting the six coastal districts along the Jubilee Oil Field, off Cape Three Points in the Western Region.
Madam Clara Osei-Boateng, Director of Programmes and Advocacy of SEND-GHANA, an NGO on promoting good governance said the issue must be tackled objectively and passionately rather emotional.
