Nene Sakite II, the chief of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area has cut a sod for the construction of a two storey boy’s dormitory at the Akuse Methodist Senior High Technical School in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region last Tuesday.
According to the chief who is known as Konor, Education has been one of the major things on his heart and he and other stakeholders would do all what it takes to support students in the area.
He advised the students to make sure they gained positive experience from the campus and come out as the future leaders of the nation.
The Municipal Director of Education, Madam Margaret Aku Vamawor, congratulated the Konor for fulfilling his promise and advised students to give the necessary corporation for the contractors to commence the work.
On his part, the headmaster of the Akuse Methodist Senior High Technical School, Mr. Frank Inkum Eyiah also congratulated the chief for fulfilling his promise and requested that the school still needed more in terms of educational infrastructure.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal, Hon. Jacob Frederick Kwame Acolatse on behalf of the President H.E John Dramani Mahama and the Assembly members of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly commended the Konor of the Lower Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Nene Sakite II for his immense contribution towards development in the Municipality.
Hon. Acolatse advised all and sundry to emulate what Nene Sakite II has done by building more academic infrastructures and he as well promised to monitor the construction of the project from time to time.
Some of the dignitaries present during the cod cutting ceremony were Nene Akplam the Paramount Queen mother of Manya Krobo, Nene Asada Ahor I, Chief of Akuse, and Madam Margaret Akpu Vamawor Municipal Director of Education.
