The International Literacy Day has been celebrated in the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District in the Eastern Region.
In a speech read on his behalf, the Eastern Regional Minister, Honourable Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, stated that the theme for the celebration “Adult and Youth Functional Literacy, a means for job creation” was very appropriate since education played a major role in skills acquisition in the fight against poverty and unemployment.

A 21-day capacity training is underway at Mpraeso in the Kwahu South District, with participants drawn from Kwahu South and East Districts. The 90 participants will be taken through basic Mathematics, Science and English among others. The training aims to empower the participants to deliver effective teaching. |
