OBJECTIVES 1. To disseminate information on the successes and challenges in implementing the ministries policies and programmes as well as gather feedback. 2. To deepen the understanding of the general public on local governance. DECENTRALISATION In 2009, the ministry set out to review the Decentralisation policy, having implemented it for about 20years. The Ministry now has a Decentralisation Policy Framework duly approved by Cabinet. Following from above an Action Plan for implementation of the policy has also been put together. |

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have come here this morning not only to address the distinguished men and women of the media, but to speak candidly and directly to the good people of this great country of ours.
I know that for many Ghanaians watching and listening right now, the state of our housing sector and the unreasonably rising cost of rent are a major concern. If you haven't been personally affected by the growing crisis in the housing sector, you probably know someone who has – maybe a friend; a neighbour; or a member of your family. It's the worry many hard working Ghanaians wake up with, and also the source of sleepless nights for many. In the run up to the 2008 elections when the then candidate Mills engaged in his famous door-to-door campaign many were his detractors who discredited this very novel campaign concept.
