INTRODUCTION
We are the Land Valuation Board (LVB), a Government-subvented organisation established in 1986 under PNDC Law 42 (of 1982), Section 43. The Board is under the Ministry of Lands, Forestry and Mines of the Republic of Ghana.
VISION
To be a highly professional organization which offers reliable, efficient, effective, timely and expert property valuation services.
MISSION
To deliver open, timely and cost effective valuation services, with the view to supporting economic development and poverty reduction.
FUNCTIONS
• Determine all matters of compensations for land compulsorily acquired by Government, any organ of Government, or Public Corporation.
• Prepare the valuation list for property rating purposes for the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Assemblies, updating and maintaining the valuation list.
• Undertake valuation of immovable properties for the administration of Capital Gains Tax and Stamp Duty as well as any other duties that the State shall levy.
• Undertake valuation of immovable properties including land, buildings, furniture, fittings and fixtures, trade stock, plant and machinery and other effects, for any purpose, for Government agencies, or any organ of the Government.
• Determine the rental values of all properties of which Government is the owner, tenant, or prospective tenant.
• Advise all organs of Government on all matters of valuation of interest in immovable properties.
• Advise the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands and the Forestry Commission on royalty payments on forestry holdings and products.
• Monitor private valuation activities with a view to protecting the national interest.
• Advise the Government on the streamlining of the Valuation Departments in public establishments.
• Advise on mining issues as they relate to compensation.

• The Land Valuation Board will endeavour to provide its Clients/Customers with all the information they need to access our services.
• Information sheets and pamphlets will be available at all Clients/Customers Service Units.
• A suggestion box will be place at our stamping office.
• We will provide clean, healthy and friendly reception areas.
COURTESY AND COOPERATION
• Friendly and courteous Customer Service Officers with their names boldly displayed will be on hand to serve you.
• All office doors will be clearly marked to facilitate easy identification.
• Accurate and reliable information will be provided by staff.
OUR SERVICE STANDARDS
The Land Valuation Board processes several types of applications and requests, each involving different procedures, with different time frames for completion.
We promise to maintain the standards outlined in the table below:

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THE PUBLIC
For effective, efficient and timely valuation services delivery, we expect the following from the public:
• Ensure that your documents are properly prepared and executed before submitting them for presentation and processing.
• Queried or rejected documents should be double-checked for accuracy and compliance with all requirements.
• With matters of compensation and capital valuation for building and land, claimants must produce documentary proof of title.
• In case of rating valuation, the Assembly in question must provide an area map of its jurisdiction.
• We entreat our customers to be courteous and polite to our staff
• Property owners must open-up to our field officers and provide them with the necessary information.
