Professor Dominic Kwaku FobihHonourable Professor Dominic Kwaku Fobih, an Associate Professor was born on the 6th of July, 1942 at Assin Jakai in the Central Region of Ghana. He obtained his General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level (O Levels) in 1966 and the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level in 1970.

In 1963, he passed out with a Ghana Teachers Certificate “A” (Post “B”) at St. Augustine's College in Bogoso in the Western Region. In 1967, he passed an Associate Certificate in Education exams at the University College of Education, Cape Coast.

The now Education, Science and Sports minister in 1974 earned a B.Ed. degree at the University of Cape Coast. The learned professor also obtained a Masters Degree at the Dalhousie University, Canada and in 1979 earned a P.H.D in Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta also in Canada.

Professor Fobith spent almost his entire working life in academia. He was a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast from 1979 until his appointment as the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology in 2001.

He was also at one time, a lecturer at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria, a Research Fellow and Teaching Assistant at the Universities of Alberta and Dalhousie, Canada.
