RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT 2005

AN ACT to provide for the right of access to information held by a government agency subject to the exemptions that are necessary and consistent with protection of the public interest and the operation of a democratic society; to provide for the right of access by an individual to personal information held by a government agency which relates to that individual; to protect from disclosure,
personal information held by a government agency to the extent consistent with the preservation of personal privacy; to provide for the internal review of decisions of government agencies by the sector Ministers and judicial review by the High Court of decisions of Ministers and private bodies; to provide for right of appeal; and to provide for matters related to these.ENACTED by the President and Parliament
